48 (ish) Hours in Ireland

June 22-24th, 2025

Road-tripping Through Ireland Except the Entire Trip is Just Us Trying to Dodge the Rain & Eat Questionable Food <3

And honestly, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I went to the UK after about 2 years, and decided to tick off a couple more countries in the EU while I was there. First was Ireland. We didn’t have much time to spend, but we made the most of it. We started in Dublin, spent the night, and then made our way to Kilkenny, Limerick, Killarney, Galway (spent the night), Cork, and then back up to Dublin to fly back to the UK, all in the span of 48 hours. Some things we learned:

  1. The weather is always a hit or miss, make sure you’re prepared for rain, cold, wind AND sun, in the same hour.

  2. Instead of chaotically spending 2 days there, I think like 4-5 days would have been a good idea. It would have given more time for us to explore Northern Ireland too.

  3. Try a Guinness obviously (we don’t drink so that wasn’t an option, but if you do, definitely get a few for the culture)

  4. If you’re coming from the USA or Canada, make sure you’re aware that Ireland drives on the left side (luckily the person I went with on this trip is from the UK, so we were fine)

  • Cliffs of Moher

Spent too long debating whether or not going to the cliffs was worth it because of the weather - safe to say it was! Unfortunately we didn’t see Harry Potter though like we were promised…

  • Cliffs... but not of Moher

These cliffs were close by to where we were staying, and because we could see these clearly even though there was so much fog, we took the chance to go see the Cliffs of Moher.

  • Little Town

Where we stayed for one of the nights, our Airbnb host was the best I’ve stayed with in a while!

  • Powerscourt Waterfall, Something Straight out of a Microsoft Wallpaper

  • Best of Dublin

Wish I took more pictures here, but we didn’t catch too much sunlight and ended up calling it an early night.
